The windows. The pacing. The decision. The pregnancy. The papers. The vow. The Gazette covers a romantic resolution that immediately became a declaration of war.

Ethan spent a significant portion of this reporting period pacing outside the mansion while Gwen and Theresa watched from their respective bedroom windows. This is a tableau so perfectly constructed to represent his actual situation, two women, two windows, one man standing in between them unable to move, that the Gazette suspects the show's set designers understood something the characters did not. Rebecca encouraged Gwen to fight. Gwen vowed to accept his choice either way. Theresa was already convinced she was the only real option. Ethan made a decision.

He went to talk to Theresa first. Gwen, listening through the adjoining bedroom door with Rebecca, prepared to start a new life without him and accepted a job in New York. Ethan told Theresa that her behaviour, specifically the lies and the trickery and the continuous pattern of sabotage, is exactly why he knows he loves Gwen and wants to be with her. He proposed to Gwen. Gwen, who had initially been preparing to leave, changed her mind when Ethan convinced her he was proposing because he truly loves her, not merely because she is pregnant. Gwen is pregnant. This information was not previously available to the Gazette and is now the central structural fact of the Ethan situation going forward. Ethan, may love Gwen, however, he is not IN LOVE with gwen.

Theresa's response to this sequence of events was to eat the divorce papers, the divorce papers between Julian and herself, which she had snatched from the hand of a celebrating Julian. She then vowed revenge on everyone in the mansion for sabotaging her plans to be Mrs. Ethan Crane. She also used Sheridan's unrelated domestic situation to attempt to manipulate Father Lonigan into refusing to marry Ethan and Gwen, on the grounds that he should oppose weddings generally. Father Lonigan initially complied. Ethan then spoke to Father Lonigan directly, explained that Theresa was suffering from sour grapes, and confirmed that Gwen is the woman he loves. Father Lonigan agreed to perform the ceremony. Ethan informed Theresa that her juvenile behaviour is exactly why he knows he made the right choice. Theresa vowed to destroy their happiness no matter what she has to do. She informed Father L that Ethan Does not LOVE LOVE Gwen like he LOVE LOVES her.

Antonio Given Weeks to Live; Sheridan Chooses Him Anyway; Luis Told to Stand Down; Tango Misread as Nothing

The truth-telling. The gathering. The test results. The choice. Liz's intervention. The Gazette covers a man who is dying surrounded by people who cannot agree on whether to tell him anything.

The week began with Luis resolving to gather everyone, Eve, Pilar, Beth, and Sheridan, to be present when he told Antonio the truth about his relationship with Sheridan. Beth was crushed by this plan. Liz pleaded with Luis not to rob Antonio of his last moments of happiness. Antonio caught Luis and Sheridan dancing the tango and misread it as ordinary sibling-adjacent socialising, letting them off the hook for the third time this arc through the mechanism of his own generous interpretive instincts. Luis left to gather witnesses.

Antonio, unaware that he was about to receive a significant disclosure, went to the mansion to tell Sheridan about his deteriorating health and found a room full of his loved ones assembled there. Everyone heard Eve's latest test results. Antonio does not have long to live. Sheridan is appalled that Luis still intends to tell a dying man the truth. Liz faces Luis down on this point. Pilar tries to change his mind. Luis will not be deterred.

Sheridan, separately, told Luis they are finished. She has chosen a life with Antonio. She will not make love to Antonio, she has told him this, but she is committed to him. Antonio thanked Sheridan for the wonderful memories she has given him and assured her that her love has made his last days special. He said this without knowing she is in love with his brother. Antonio has been doing this the entire arc and the Gazette notes it as one of the more quietly devastating elements of a situation that has not lacked for devastation.

Mrs. Wallace taunted Beth that Antonio will die of shock when Luis tells him the truth, and that Luis will then be free to reunite with Sheridan. Beth went after Mrs. Wallace with an axe. Mrs. Wallace hid. Beth brandished the axe and vowed to get rid of her mother. The Gazette notes the axe and notes that Beth has now: drugged a man, fabricated a sexual encounter, staged a window tableau, and pursued her elderly mother with an axe, all within the same reporting period, in the service of a single romantic objective.

Cracked Connie and Cecil Inform Charity That Kay and Miguel Slept Together; Charity Has Already Had the Premonition; Kay Attempts Shower Seduction Anyway

The trick-or-treaters. The hospital room. The premonition. The shower. Miguel's panic. The Gazette covers a disclosure that was both supernaturally redundant and personally catastrophic.

Tabitha, exhausted from chasing Cracked Connie and Cecil around town on Halloween, settled in for a nap. Tabitha also mourned Timmy, alone, watching an old movie.

Connie and Cecil, dressed as trick-or-treaters, infiltrated Charity's hospital room and informed her that Kay and Miguel slept together. Charity was horrified. The Gazette notes that Charity had already had a premonition of exactly this, she told Grace she had seen a vision of Kay and Miguel making love in a shower, and that the supernatural warning system functioned correctly but was not acted upon, which is consistent with how supernatural warning systems operate in Harmony.

Kay, apparently unaware that the information was now in circulation, joined Miguel in the on-call shower and attempted to seduce him. Miguel pushed her away. Charity then arrived. Miguel panicked. Grace, having heard about the premonition, was already wondering what her daughter was up to. Miguel confessed to Father Lonigan that he slept with Kay under the influence of evil and has not told Charity. Miguel and Charity subsequently announced to her family that they plan to marry as soon as possible. Kay is crushed. Kay is the maid of honour. The Gazette has nothing to add to this sentence.

Separately: Connie became inflamed with passion when Cecil read aloud from Tabitha's steamy bestseller. The Gazette files this for the record and moves on at speed.

Simone Administers Drugged Milk to Whitney; Kay's Idea; Chad and Whitney Had Been Having a Romantic Evening

Kay persuaded Simone that sabotaging her sister, who is after all sneaking around with Simone's boyfriend, was justified. Simone took Whitney a glass of drugged milk. Chad and Whitney had been sharing a romantic evening in Whitney's bedroom with the world shut out. Liz, present in the house, covered for them and promised to keep quiet about what she knows. The Gazette notes Liz's discretion here as the single kind act she has performed this issue and notes further that it was performed in service of a household she is simultaneously planning to destroy.

Liz Continues to Live in Eve's House and Prepare Her Destruction; TC Finds Liz's Old Photos; Eve Intercepts; Luis Arrives and Accidentally Saves Eve

The suitcase. The photographs. The compromising position. The warning. The Gazette covers a domestic siege that is being conducted from the garage apartment.

Liz has shown TC photographs from her past. Eve watched, terrified. Luis's arrival interrupted them before TC could see whatever Liz intended him to see. Eve was momentarily relieved. Liz gave Eve a warning and disclosed what she has in her suitcase, the contents of which the Gazette does not yet have confirmed details of but which Eve found shocking enough to describe as her world coming crashing down.

Eve caught Liz and TC in a compromising position, described as bonding rather than romantic, though the distinction is doing heavy work, and is deeply troubled by how much time they are spending together. Liz is making Eve's enemy squirm by getting along extremely well with her husband and daughter. TC thinks the vile woman from Liz's past who has become a respected community member should be exposed. He has said people never change. He said this to his wife, who is that woman, and does not know it. Eve has made a desperate plea to Liz. Liz slapped Eve again, this is now her second documented slap, after Eve suggested that whatever happened between them could not have been that bad. Liz disagrees.

Sam · Grace · Ivy · David · The Usual

Ivy Tricks Sam Into Getting Undressed; Grace Arrives; Sam and Grace Eventually Reconnect; Ivy's Wheelchair Continues Its Campaign

Ivy, tipped off by David that Grace was on her way to the mansion, put a plan into motion. She tricked Sam into getting undressed. Grace arrived and was rocked by the sight of Ivy and Sam in bed together. David confronted Ivy, informing her the manipulations will never work. Grace and Sam eventually reconnected. Sam has been growing increasingly irate watching Grace and David together in close moments. He told Grace icily to let him know when she has a spare moment for him and their daughters. Grace pulled away when Sam tried to get physical, citing that they are not officially married. Grace overheard Sam admit to Ethan that he would have gone back to Ivy if he had known about her pregnancy. Grace is crushed. Sam did not know Grace heard this. The Bennett marriage continues its slow structural deterioration with the precision of something that knows exactly where it is going.

John's gratitude for being reunited with his mother adds to David's burden of guilt. David is caring for an ailing John alongside Grace. David admits he is in love with Grace. He has told her this. He is also an imposter, a fact that remains unresolved in the official record. Grace insists that even if she divorced Sam, they would still be married in the eyes of God, and has declined to pursue the annulment for this reason. Sam urged her to divorce David and has not succeeded.

The Harmony Police Department has, in a development that will surprise no regular reader of this paper, effectively given up on finding who shot Julian Crane. The Gazette wishes to note, for the official record, that Julian Crane was shot. He survived, he has since returned home, taken a bath, made love to Tabitha after half a Martimmy, and resumed his general operational existence, but he was still shot. The shooting occurred. The shooter fired a weapon at a man with intent. The man did not die, but this is a matter of ballistics and fortune rather than intent, and the intent itself constitutes a crime regardless of outcome.

The Harmony PD has not identified the shooter. The shooter is therefore at large. The Gazette is not in a position to name a suspect but notes the following individuals who had, at various points during the relevant period, documented motive to shoot Julian Crane: Rebecca (complicated), Ivy (layered), Theresa (comprehensive), Eve (plausible), TC (documented hatred), Alistair (structurally possible and almost too obvious), and a number of additional parties whose grievances against Julian are a matter of public record going back several centuries in some cases. The Gazette will monitor.
